In the Kandy district – a kingdom well known for Royals - where the industry began in 1867. The teas manufactured in this royal area is described as “mid-grown” teas, as cultivation does not exceed 1,300m (4000 Feet) above sea level. They range in flavor depending on the altitude and whether the plantation is sheltered from monsoon winds. Kandy teas produce a bright infusion with a coppery tone, strong and intensely full-bodied special teas.
